Josie Neill has been writing beautiful, grounded Scots poetry for half a century. Her poetry evokes a rural childhood long gone but tackles contemporary issues too. In a time when writing in Scots was unfashionable, and women writers were often ignored, Josie maintained a standard of excellence admired by her peers and recognised by frequent awards and BBC broadcasts. Remarkably – at the age of eighty-six – this is her first major collection.
